Setting

The backdrop is meant to be normal so that the audience can pay attention to the character's internal journey. The little, silent room is very different from the wide reach of his phone calls. This shows how alone he is and how emotionally involved he is in something that transpired outside of his boundaries.

Protagonist

The main character is a shy, clumsy man with a good heart. others say he has trouble talking to others, especially women, yet he really wants to connect with others. His brief meeting with a woman who gives him her number but leaves out the last two digits sets off the whole story. The film's tone is set by his cautious, sometimes strange, and hopelessly romantic demeanor.

With a Specific Objective or Goal

The main character's goal is simple but seems impossible: to discover the girl by attempting every possible combination of the final two digits of her phone number.
