FILM TITLE: LIGHT MY FIRE

WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY: BOBB BARITO

It got me hooked!

From the beginning, the film carried a strong feel of suspense-That after a spark of fire crackers in the skies,a man angrily walks out of his room, goes to his garage to pick his car and drives off ragging.

This is a story of a protective father and a disciplinarian father addressing a central message of bully and abuse.

Looking at the sort of reception Clark’s father gave Lucy’s father, I least expected the kind of treatment Clark got from his dad-and that was a twist!

All characters delivered great performances but Clark’s father stood out for me.

Cinematography was a point. The tracking-single shot from when Lucy’s father came out of the room and walk to the garage was beautiful but that shot to make it for me was when Lucy’s father was on his way to Clark’s and upon taking the last curve, his car and the camera went separate ways yet revealing the car still in motion.

The lighting at the dining table back at Lucy’s house set a tone and feel.

The music at the end where Lucy’s father was laying on the sofa was brilliant depicting the moment and season.

Overall, the film has a strong impact and what hooked me to it from the beginning, continued to the end. I recommend “LIGHT MY FIRE” for everyone but specifically parents.
